ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Orthopedic/Neuro Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts: Days 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with 30-minute lunch break • Every-other-weekend requirement (Days: Saturday/Sunday, Nights: Friday/Saturday/Sunday) • May be required to work holidays depending on unit needs • Patient ratio of 1:6 in 33-bed unit with all private rooms • Must have experience with orthopedic patients and PCA pumps • EPIC experience required • Required certifications: BLS (AHA) • Care for patients with elective surgeries (hips, knees, shoulders), fractures from falls, back & neck neurosurgeries, and general medical-surgical patients • Manage IV fluids and PCA pumps (no heparin or other drips) • Work with Patient Care Techs who handle vitals, blood sugar checks, ADLs, and Foley discontinuation • Remote telemetry monitoring available when needed (monitored by 3rd floor) • Subject to floating to any medical-surgical units as first priority • Royal blue scrubs required (scrub jackets optional but must be royal blue) • 3-day orientation: 1 day EPIC training, 1 day floor orientation with preceptor, 3rd day independent • Must submit unexpired driver's license with application • May be cancelled for low census depending on contract terms Facility: This medical center operates a 33-bed orthopedic and neurosurgical unit featuring all private rooms and comprehensive care capabilities.
