ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Huntington, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/30/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • 13-week assignment with 3x12 night shifts • Work on 5 North/Step-down, a 20-bed unit with all private rooms • Patient ratios of 4:1 when fully staffed, can go up to 5:1 depending on staffing • Care for mixture of pulmonary, cardiac, neuro, GI, and surgery patients who are stable with higher risk of becoming unstable • Unit equipped with Nihon Kohden monitoring system • Work with BiPAP/CPap/Optiflow/Home Vent equipment via trach • Administer critical drips including Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin • Care for adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses including heart failure, atrial fibrillation, COPD, pneumonia, stroke, and hip fractures • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS • Minimum 1 year of experience required • Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown skills required • Weekend coverage required • 20 hours of orientation provided • Complete modules during orientation (non-billable, average 4-6 hours) • Must complete lab work within 72 hours of signing contract Facility: This medical center operates a comprehensive step-down unit designed to provide specialized care for patients who require close monitoring but don't need intensive care.
