CRRT/Organ Donation 1:1. May have to stretch to 1:3 w/ overflow/stepdown. Average daily census = 13Required CertificationsBLS, ACLS, NIHSS are all requiredCommon diagnoses/Types of patientsSepsis, PNA, COVID, CHF, COPD, DKA, OD, Renal Failure, Neurosurgeries - lumbar drains, Ventriculostomies, General Surgery, occasional MI, & Vascular patientsExperience or 'Must have' skillsMust have at least 1 year of critical care experience. Prior travel preferred. Must be competent w/ CRRT, IABP, Vents, post-code/therapeutic hypothermia & skilled with all vasoactive medications, sedation, & paralyticsAre RNs required to titrate drips?Yes - All critical care gtts are titrated within ordered parameters. ICU RN's are also responsible for performing care/removal of Central lines, etc. Common titratable &/or set rate drips(noted above) Charge Nurse/House SupervisorFree Charge Nurse Monday-Friday Day shift (may carry assignment during high census). Charge Nurse does take an assignment on Nights & weekendsAre there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios1-2 PCT's depending on census & staffingHospitalist or Intensivist in houseIntensivist 7a-7p daily w/ residents. Hospitalist provides overnight coverage 6p-6a dailyRT in ICU 24/7They have a dedicated RT daily in the ICU 7a-7p. RT covers all of critical care 7p-7aRT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow etc.)Yes - Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow per RTIs there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?Phillips - ICU Staff responsible for monitoring/interpretation/admitting to the system. Remote tele techs serve as back-up monitoring. Shifts & Scheduling0700-1930; 1900-0730 Self-scheduling & block scheduling are allowed as long as the needs of the unit are met; however, block scheduling is not guaranteed.Weekend RequirementEOW - Both Days & Nights could be either Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon depending on the needs of the unitHoliday Requirement Perm staff have a Holiday rotation schedule. If they can get by without travelers working weekends they will; however, if the needs of the unit require travelers to work weekends, this would be the expectation. Is there a call or standby requirement?RareFloating RequirementsRequired to float to Stepdown & MedSurg as needed. Scrub Color/Dress CodeRoyal Blue - Scrub jackets are not required; however, if they wear a jacket it must be an actual scrub jacket. No hoodies or sweat-jackets. Unit/Department specific orientation2 Shifts of general/floor orientation. Must complete EPIC education before starting on the floor.
