TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Parkersburg, West Virginia, 26101! Pay Information $2,218 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Strong knowledge in Medical Surgical, Infectious Disease, and Isolation precautions Description: Unit consists of 18 private rooms due to Infectious Diseases. Staffing ratios typically are 1:5-6, with 1:4 if COVID. Unit is staffed with 3-4 RNs per shift. BLS is the only required certification. Common diagnoses include any and all Infectious Diseases, Isolation, COVID, MRSA, C-Diff, and others. Experience in titrating typical MedSurg intravenous medications, antibiotics, and standard drips preferred. A Charge Nurse is available 24/7. Day charge may take patients if necessary; night charge always takes a full patient assignment. There are two certified nursing assistants per shift. There is no vent equipment; however, patients may receive Cpap, Bipap, or High flow managed by respiratory therapy. Remote telemetry is available from another floor, with RNs not required to read or interpret strips. Shifts run from 0700-1930 and 1900-0730 with a 30-minute lunch break. Permanent staff self-schedule while travelers will be scheduled based on unit needs. Block scheduling can be arranged if unit requirements are met. There is a requirement to work every other weekend. Weekend shifts for nights are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; days are Saturday and Sunday. Holiday requirements depend on unit needs, with travelers expected to work if permanent staff coverage is insufficient. Travelers will be the first to float to other units as needed, assigned patients within their skill set if floated. Dress code includes royal blue scrubs. Scrub jackets, if worn, must be royal blue; hoodies or sweat jackets are not allowed. Orientation includes one day of system orientation and one day on the floor with a preceptor. Subsequent shift is independent. Cancellation policy allows clients to cancel two shifts per 13-week assignment and one shift for shorter assignments. Charting system utilized is electronic. BSN is not required.
