Job Description:
General Description: The purpose of this class within the
organization is to perform preventative maintenance and repairs at
City owned and/or operated buildings and facilities.This class
works under close supervision according to set procedures.Work
Hours: This position will be expected to work a designated schedule
established by the Department Head. It is also expected this
position will work other and /or additional hours including nights,
weekends and /or holidays as necessary or requested in order to
accomplish departmental goals.Duties and Responsibilities: The
functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the
time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional
functions related to the type of work of the class as
necessary.Essential Functions: Strives to be efficient and
effective at balancing and meeting the common needs and reasonable
expectations of core constituents. Contributes towards the
department's mission by continuously striving to meet expectations,
strategic goals and objectives.Performs electrical installation and
repair; operates boilers and chilled water systems; monitors HVAC;
installs and repairs plumbing.Performs preventative maintenance of
motors and pumps; paints; installs and finishes drywall.Assists
with event set up, operation and take down. Troubleshoots
mechanical issues.Conducts all phases of building repairs and
maintenance of buildings and grounds.Operates temperature controls,
energy management systems, and pneumatic systems.Assists with the
purchase, pick-up and delivery of materials and supplies.
Troubleshoots telephones and data support systems.Maintains HVAC
building temperature.Performs related work as assigned.Minimum
Education and Experience Requirements:Requires High School
graduation or GED equivalent. Requires four (4) years' experience
in building repair and maintenance or closely related experience.
Must have previous experience with 3 phase power. Special
Certifications and Licenses:Journeyman's LicenseHVAC Technicians
Class 2 LicenseForklift CertificationDriver's LicenseKnowledge,
