Our successful internship program attracts students from across our region and our diverse opportunities ensure that our interns are provided with a wide range of learning possibilities!Encova Insurance will have a need for an Intern, Product Actuarial for our Charleston, WV office. This is a full-time summer internship for the 2023 summer and will require someone who can work at least 40 hours per week. Start and end dates will be based on availability and business need. You will work in our Charleston office to support learning and development with the flexibility of some remote work as well. JOB OBJECTIVE:The Product Actuarial Intern will perform tasks, projects and research in support of areas including pricing, underwriting, data analytics, and profitability reporting. This position's objective is to provide meaningful and impactful support to the product actuarial unit and business teams.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Perform validation of large account pricing models for large account underwriters.* Assist Product Actuarial unit in providing pricing indications on individual large accounts.* Assist in execution, maintenance, and expansion of management reports and analytics under direction of the Product Actuarial staff.* Field routine service and research project requests.OTHER FUNCTIONS: * Other tasks as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* Must be currently enrolled and have completed at least 60 credit hours with an accredited college or university. * Must be actively enrolled and pursuing a degree. Preference may be given to Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other math related major.* Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications.* Ability to communicate complex topics to diverse audiences.* Responsiveness to customer needs.* Ability to work well with others from various departments and technical backgrounds.* Ability to multi-task.* Must be detailed oriented.This position has been evaluated in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
