Sodexo is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Specialist to work in the LABS at CAMC General Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia.  CAMC provides medical and surgical services to care for patients in the Charleston area and throughout the region at four hospitals and many outpatient locations.

Working in Clinical Technology Management (CTM) for Sodexo, you will partner with our Healthcare clients to manage their clinical technology needs. Therefore, we are seeking solution-oriented candidates who excel at customer service with a proven success as a Biomedical Equipment Specialist in the lab area. Sodexo’s BMES professionals have:

 

 Formal training and preferred experience servicing clinical equipment in the lab.

  • Experience effectively repairing, maintaining and calibrating clinical devices such as: Infusion pumps, Defibrillator's, Patient Monitoring, Nurse-Call, Neonatal Warmers, and IV Pumps.
  • Proactive thinking skills to troubleshoot
  • Strong customer service skills; ability to provide world class service to healthcare customers
  • Candidate must be flexible driving to other campus locations to provide support

The role will focus on customer needs and ensuring all CTM related functions are completed in a quality and timely manner to include medical device preventive and corrective maintenance and other related matters. Ideal candidate will have experience and training in biomedical equipment role/field and the capably to serve a wide variety of customer needs.

Position Summary:

Functions as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) and modality expert while possessing skill-set of advanced modality HTM (Healthcare Technology Management) expertise such as clinical laboratory, medical imaging, radiation/oncology, real-time location systems, alarm management, middleware or high-end biomedical devices such as device integration/networking, catheterization lab/electrophysiology monitoring systems in the areas of Specialty-Medical equipment knowledge (manufacturers, models, modalities, capital planning, etc.

 

Highest level of technical expertise. Operates under minimum supervision and has the ability to make independent decisions. Possess ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain an advanced clinical inventory, equipment and system. May have dotted line supervision of Biomedical Medical Equipment Technicians (BMET). Demonstrates the highest level of proficiency in one modality to the level of knowledge of the manufacture. Has ability to share knowledge regarding area of specialization across area or region. Strong planning and organization skills. Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment

Basic Functional Experience - 7 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting
