The Impact You'll Make in this Role As an Inpatient Coding/DRG Audit Consultant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Conducting inpatient coding/DRG audits Identifying and recommending coding opportunities for customer improvements Interacting and educating external as well as internal customers Leading customer engagements Participating in relevant corporate programs/initiatives Ensuring professional, quality and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties Complying with corporate policies and procedures while acting in a manner consistent with 3M's values and ethical standards Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of eleven (11) years of experience in facility inpatient coding/auditing or reimbursement in lieu of the Bachelor's degree education requirement AHIMA-certified RHIT or RHIA Seven (7) years of experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS inpatient coding Five (5) years combined experience with inpatient coding/DRG auditing Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Information Management or related field Preferred 5 years in health information management services consulting and/or managing coding quality functions in mid-to-large size acute care hospital setting Strong ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and DRG auditing experience Working knowledge of risk-adjusted methodologies (e.g., APR DRGs) Working knowledge of quality of care measures (e.g., PSIs) Preferred 3-5 years of experience with clinical documentation improvement Experience collaborating with and presenting to providers and clinical care team regarding the subjects of coding and clinical documentation Travel: Occasional travel may be required Relocation Assistance: No Location: Remote via Alpharetta office Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
