Job Description:

The Performance Improvement Quality Data Analyst is responsible for assisting in designing and improving the integration of processes to enhance patient health outcomes through the systematic measurement, assessment, and improvement of functions in the organization. The PI Quality Data Analyst is accountable for collecting data, both concurrently and retrospectively, to identify areas of improvement, and provide ongoing education regarding the peer process to the medical staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide education to physicians regarding outcomes, and external and internal benchmarking Track and trend physician utilization of clinical pathways for appropriate use of resources and progression towards desired outcomes Collaborate with Medical Staff, Physician Leadership, CMO and PI Quality Coordinator to develop effective mechanisms to respond to quality concerns. Leverage data from Premier and RL6 databases to develop reports regarding external and internal benchmarking and clinical performance standards. Train stakeholders on how to effectively access and use reports. Help to develop meaningful metrics and targets, measuring actual market results. Organize, sort, and filter data in order to distinguish patterns and recognize trends Develop and maintain data preparation and validation routines to support data and algorithms. Select, recommend, and apply appropriate analytic and statistical methodologies and techniques. Evaluate new analytic tools and methodologies for possible deployment. Act as a resource to facilitate communication among medical staff members and medical staff office. Work with the Medical Staff Leadership and the Chief Medical Officer to address concerns and keep them informed as appropriate regarding Medical Staff quality. Facilitate the Physician Excellence Committee; including meeting preparation, agenda planning, and minutes. Collaborate with the PEC Chair and Committee members on case selection and review. Evaluate opportunities to improve the outcomes related to Medical Staff Patient Service Excellence and professionalism. Serve as a backup and support for all Medical Staff quality processes; including Physician Leadership Council, OPPE/FPPE, MEC and any Ad Hoc Committee of. Facilitate the utilization of current information technology resources to enhance the efficiency of the peer review process, credentialing, and the reappointment process Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with Medical Staff, ensuring goals, satisfaction, increased productivity, and improved quality. Assist with educating physicians regarding outcomes and external and internal benchmarking Perform other tasks as assigned Education and Experience Minimum Required Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing Preferred Education: Masters in Nursing Experience: 5+ years in clinical management, outcomes, or quality management Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Applicants must be licensed to work as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia
