Job Description Job Description To Apply for this Job Click Here Position Description Director of Nursing – Women’s & Children’s Health POSITION TYPE: Director of Nursing SPECIALTY UNIT: Women’s/Children’s Health LOCATION: Raleigh County, West Virginia SHIFT: Day, Full-time, Exempt position Director of Nursing We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing to provide strategic and operational leadership. This pivotal role directs departmental activities, manages resources, and ensures the highest-quality patient-centered care for women, infants, and pediatric populations. The Director is responsible for aligning departmental goals with organizational objectives, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth. ???? Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Leadership Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards that meet the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements of the organization. Direct and evaluate Women’s & Children’s Services (L&D, Postpartum, Nursery, NICU, and Pediatrics). Ensure optimal patient outcomes, satisfaction, and quality performance. Talent Management & Development Oversee hiring, orientation, evaluations, corrective actions, and continuing education. Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional engagement. Oversee ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards. Quality, Safety, & Financial Stewardship Integrate evidence-based nursing practices into protocols and ensure rigorous compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, The Joint Commission, and other accrediting bodies. Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated funding. Lead and support internal and external audits. ? Collaboration & Partnerships Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination, patient experience, and overall service delivery. ? Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Licensure: Current WV RN license (or eligible for licensure), BLS, ACLS, NRP Certifications required or obtained within a defined timeframe. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical experience in Women's and Children's Health.
