Speech Language Pathologist Location: Gallipolis, OH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $325 per week Shift Information: Days - 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist Profession: Speech and Language Pathologist Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Valid Speech and Language Pathologist license Certifications: Relevant certifications in Speech and Language Pathology Must-Have: Expertise in assessments and individualized treatment planning Description: Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine individuals' levels of receptive and expressive speech and language skills, swallowing skills, and social/pragmatic skills. Develop, modify, and implement individual and group therapy treatment programs to enhance communication and address swallowing deficiencies. Prevent asphyxiation by recommending changes in food textures and liquid consistencies. Confer with medical staff regarding medications to improve swallowing. Participate in and suggest participation in evaluations, including swallowing studies and follow-ups. Design and personally deliver speech, language, and dysphagia management services for individuals and groups. Provide training and support for individuals using hearing aids and develop programs for beginning reading and articulation training. Demonstrate functional social communication skills needed during outings. Design and deliver in-service training to other staff on speech-language techniques and protocols for therapy. Act as a sign language interpreter as necessary. Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team for treatment and care planning. Attend meetings, workshops, and seminars to enhance professional skills and knowledge. Counsel and inform family members regarding speech-language, hearing, and swallowing issues. Compose and complete reports, lesson plans, and other program-related documents necessary for tracking treatment progress. Operate personal computers using office systems software and specialized communication software to create and edit records and reports.
