Position Job Title: Speech and Language Pathologist Profession:
Speech and Language Pathology Specialty: Staff Augmentation
Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Valid
state license required Certifications: Relevant certifications
preferred Must-Have: Experience conducting assessments and
developing treatment plans Description: Conduct assessments and
evaluations to determine individuals' levels of receptive and
expressive speech and language skills, swallowing skills, and
social/pragmatic skills. Develop, modify, and implement individual
and group therapy treatment programs to enhance communication and
address swallowing deficiencies. Recommend changes in food texture
and liquid consistency during meals and snacks to improve
swallowing. Confer with medical staff regarding medications that
may assist with swallowing. Participate in and suggest
participation in barium swallowing studies and follow-ups. Design
and deliver speech, language, and dysphagia management services,
which may include hearing screenings. Provide training and support
for individuals using hearing aids and teach relevant communication
skills. Demonstrate language techniques and augmentative
communication device usage. Design and deliver in-service training
to other staff on speech-language techniques and protocols. Act as
a sign language interpreter as necessary. Participate as a member
of an interdisciplinary team to provide professional insight and
goal planning for treatment and care. Attend meetings, workshops,
and seminars to improve and maximize professional skills and
knowledge. Counsel and inform guardians and family members
regarding speech-language, hearing, and swallowing issues. Compose
and complete reports, lesson plans, and other documents necessary
to implement, modify, and track progress of treatment programs.
Operate personal computer software to create, edit, and store
records, reports, and lesson plans. Maintain electronic
augmentative communication devices and hearing aids. Requirements
