ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Observation Unit Job Details: • Work 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) • Clock in no sooner than 6:53 AM or 6:53 PM • Every-other-weekend requirement (weekend shifts for nights are Friday/Saturday/Sunday; days are Saturday/Sunday) • Holiday work may be required based on unit needs • Average patient ratios of 1:6 on a 21-bed unit (usually staffed for 18) • Care for pre/post catheterization patients, chest pain rule-outs on heparin drips, COPD, CHF, pacemaker patients, arrhythmias, and general medical-surgical diagnoses • Must be able to read cardiac strips and have experience with set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone • Experience with TR Bands preferred • Handle set-rate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Bumex, and Lasix (no titration required) • Fast-paced environment with potential to discharge up to 6 patients per day and admit 6 patients • May be subject to floating throughout the hospital including ICU and step-down units • Call or standby may be required if census is low • Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA) • Must submit unexpired copy of driver's license with application • EPIC experience required • Royal blue scrubs required; scrub jackets allowed but no hoodies or sweat jackets • 2-day orientation: 1 day computer training, 1 day floor shadowing with preceptor • All time-off requests must be submitted upfront in contract Facility: This medical center operates a comprehensive observation unit specializing in cardiac and medical-surgical care.
