qualified Med/Surg RN in Charleston, West Virginia, 25301! Pay
Information $1,875 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical
Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required. Minimum of 1 year of
in-specialty experience required. Charge experience preferred.
License: West Virginia or Compact RN License required. Can submit
with pending RN license but must have active license to start.
Certifications: BLS required (must be AHA). Acute care rehab
preferred. Must-Have: Must complete the flu vaccine requirement
unless an allergy is documented. Every other weekend required. No
call requirement. Description: This position is for a medical
surgical registered nurse in a rehabilitation unit. The shift will
be from 7 PM to 7 AM. The unit has 24 beds with patients suffering
from cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injuries,
amputations, spinal cord injuries, neurological diseases, and
severe deconditioning. Each patient is assigned a care team,
including a physiatrist, nurse practitioner, nurse, two therapists,
and a social worker. This collaborative team creates a personalized
care plan for each patient. Therapy sessions are conducted for
three hours a day, Monday through Friday. The average length of
stay is around two weeks. Every other Thursday will be designated
for orientation. Candidates may be floated within scope to meet
facility needs when required. No restrictions on time off; requests
must be included during the application process. Candidates may
discuss block schedule requests during the interview. The minimum
patient ratio during nights is 1:5 or 1:6. A variety of diagnoses
will be present in the patient population, including spinal cord
injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations, and
neuromuscular disorders. Successful applicants must provide proof
of previous experience and certifications as required.
