setting. Med/Surg RN Job Details – Parkersburg, WV - Location:
Parkersburg, WV 26101 (West Virginia healthcare jobs) - Facility
Type: Acute Care – 4N Ortho-Neuro (Medical Surgical Unit) -
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/12/2025 – End: 1/11/2026) -
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), weekends as scheduled -
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week - Estimated Weekly Pay: $1820 -
$1950 - Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs (scrub jackets must be royal
blue) - Charting System: EPIC (EPIC charting experience required)
Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN)
license in West Virginia or compact state - BLS certification (AHA
required) - Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience,
including orthopedic and neuro patient care - Proficiency with EPIC
electronic medical records (EMR) - Experience with elective
orthopedic surgeries (hips, knees, shoulders), neuro-surgeries
(back & neck), and general medical-surgical patients - Ability to
float to other Med/Surg units as needed Med/Surg RN
Responsibilities - Deliver comprehensive nursing care to
orthopedic, neuro-surgical, and general Med/Surg patients - Manage
patient assignments (typical ratio 1:6) - Administer IV fluids and
manage PCA pumps (no titratable drips required) - Collaborate with
Patient Care Techs (PCTs) and interdisciplinary healthcare teams -
Document all patient care using the EPIC system - Participate in
unit orientation (1 day EPIC, 1 day on the floor with preceptor) -
Comply with hospital policies, including dress code and floating
requirements - Work every other weekend and provide holiday
