Job Description ATC Healthcare Services of Atlanta and Charleston is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Huntington, West Virginia. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 08/04/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Position Requirements - Current State Specific REGISTERED NURSE (RN) License - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross - NIH Stroke Scale - Minimum of one year of ICU REGISTERED NURSE (RN) work experience Job Responsibilities - Continuously monitor and assess critically ill patients with life-threatening conditions. - Manage and titrate vasoactive drips, sedatives, insulin, and other high-risk IV medications. - Operate and troubleshoot advanced life support equipment such as ventilators, CRRT, and intra-aortic balloon pumps. - Perform frequent, detailed assessments including neurological checks, hemodynamic monitoring, and fluid balance evaluation. - Respond rapidly to changes in patient status and initiate emergency interventions as needed. - Provide post-operative and post-procedural care for high-acuity surgical and medical patients. - Assist with bedside procedures including intubation, central line insertion, chest tube placement, and code blue management. - Collaborate closely with intensivists, specialists, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members. - Educate patients and families on the ICU environment, treatment plans, and expected outcomes. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses. - Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and ensure safe handling of invasive devices and equipment. - Participate in family conferences, end-of-life discussions, and care planning for complex cases.
