Job Title: X-Ray Technician Profession: Radiologic Technologist Specialty: Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a hospital setting preferred License: Required to be licensed by the State of West Virginia Certifications: CPR-BLS, ARRT Must-Have: - Experiences in the operating room and fluoroscopy procedures - Good communication skills and empathy - Knowledge of specialized imaging technology including C-arms and O-arms - Understanding of safety measures to prevent over-exposing radiation - Physical ability to position patients for quality imaging - Attention to detail for maintaining patient medical records Description: Unit has two routine X-ray rooms and one fluoroscopy room. There is also one specials room and one designated cysto room. Four C-arms and one O-arm are available in the department. Common types of imaging performed include routine X-rays and fluoroscopy studies. Interventional radiology procedures such as arthrograms and nephrostomies are conducted. Scoliosis and leg length imaging is also performed using specialized software. The average number of scans/studies per day is up to 120 combined radiology and fluoroscopy. The department utilizes EPIC for charting and AGFA PACS for imaging management. Department equipment includes GE OEC C-arms, DELL medical with AGFA digital plate, and a Siemens fluoroscopy unit. Shifts are set from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and every other weekend and holiday work is required. Black scrubs are the designated dress code for imaging staff. The department does not employ registered radiology assistants. Radiologists are present on-site.
