directs activities related to nutritional care of patients.
-Interprets physician's orders in terms of individualized daily
meal patterns and menus according to therapeutic needs.
Utilizes knowledge of various disease states as they relate to food
intake and nutritional requirements under varying types of therapy.
Considers behavioral, social and psychological implications of
acute and chronic illness as well as patient's social and financial
status while meeting medical requirements for nutritional therapy.
Provides nutritional education for prevention and treatment. Works
with nutritional manager and dietary staff on diets, menu, and
recipes.
Writes diet orders as needed.Essential Functions:Conducts nutrition
assessments. Plans, provides and evaluates effects of nutritional

counseling to patients and/or concerned others. Applies knowledge
of age-related factors appropriately to patients, utilizing

Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree - Required with major in food and nutrition
required. Appropriate degree that meets the Commission on Dietetic
Registration requirements for internship may be substituted.Drag

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the
ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a
