The Charleston Area Medical Center Institute for Academic Medicine is seeking a General Psychiatrist for a full-time position in the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry. The opportunity is located in the capital city of Charleston, WV. The successful candidate will provide clinical care and teach medical students and residents in the area of general psychiatry. Primarily inpatient psychiatry with some outpatient responsibilities during the weeks not assigned to an inpatient unit. Weeknight call is from home and consists of telephone supervision of on call residents. Weekend call consists of rounds on the inpatient unit and completing consults on the medical units with residents. Call is shared with other adult psychiatry faculty and is 1:7. Job Requirements by the time of appointment are:

• MD, DO degree or foreign equivalent degree from an accredited program
• Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Psychiatry
• Possess aptitude and passion for educating residents and medical students
• Willingness to participate in appropriate academic, clinical research or other scholarly activity as may be required of clinical faculty
