Job Description:
Surgery-Vascular opening in Charleston, West Virginia. The
Charleston Area Medical Center Institute of Academic Medicine (CAMC
IAM)/West Virginia University (WVU) Charleston Division is seeking
a visionary clinical and academic leader for the position of Chief
of Vascular Surgery. CAMC is the largest teaching hospital in
southern West Virginia. West Virginia University Charleston
Division is one of the oldest regional campuses in the US,
supporting hundreds of health professions learners. The position
will provide strategic and administrative leadership of the
Division of Vascular Surgery. The Chief will be lead initiatives
that support excellence in patient care, quality improvement,
research and education and growth of the Division. This includes
supporting the ACGME accredited vascular surgery fellowship and
integrated vascular surgery residency programs. The full-time
position reports to the Chair of the Department of Surgery and
offers a competitive compensation package and exceptional benefit

and academic effort. Applicants must be board certified in Vascular
Surgery and eligible for licensure in the state of West Virginia.
Candidates must have a minimum of five years of leadership
experience with evidence of progressive responsibility within the
Division or Department in a teaching hospital/health system or
academic medical center. The ideal candidate will have prior
experience as a residency or fellowship Program Director or
Associate Program Director and an established record of academic
achievement. As a winner of the National Baldrige Quality Award,
CAMC is nationally recognized for its progressive and innovative
practices and quality care. CAMC is a 958-bed academic medical
center and is southern West Virginia s top health care provider
with four hospitals and over 700 physicians on staff as well as a
workforce of over 8,000 employees. Serving a primary and secondary
service area of 12 counties with a population of over 560,000, CAMC
serves approximately 30% of the state s population. CAMC is part of
the Vandalia Health System, which also includes Mon Health, the
parent company of Mon Health Medical Center, Mon Health Preston
Memorial Hospital, Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital
and Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital in the northern part of
