The Opportunity We are looking for a Security Shift Manager to join our exciting work environment at Mardi Gras Casino! Please see below for additional information regarding this position.
Summary Ensures that all security procedures are performed successfully.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:
Ensures all equipment is operational on a shift-by-shift basis.
Prepares correspondence using automated software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office.
Minimize business risk by ensuring compliance with local legislation, internal policies and procedures.
Pedestrian and mobile patrol of Company facilities.
Responds to, investigates, and composes detailed and accurate reports regarding a wide variety of incidents, including but not limited to property and persons crimes, minor to fatal injuries, and traffic collisions.
Retains and forwards confidential or proprietary information in accordance with guidelines and training.
Responds to intrusion, hold-up, panic, and fire alarms.
Assists casino visitors and employees as needed.
Recovers and secures unsecured Company assets.
Provides transport for guests and employees per policy and as assigned
Assists the Local Emergency Services with medical responses, traffic management, or other duties as directed.
Assists with lost and found items as requested.
Secures designated facilities, facilities found unsecured, or property found unsecured.
Assists with fires, wind storms, floods, blizzards, evacuations, and other emergencies as directed.
Attends and testifies at legal meetings, court proceedings and disciplinary meetings as required.
Provides security for special functions and details.
Develop and facilitate training programs induction, refresher, external courses.
Review, follow up, and perform all day-to-day operational matters.
Effectively supervise security supervisor and guards.
Prepare and review Security officer evaluation on a 30, 60, and 90 day basis
Make employee ID s
Process self-exclusion and train supervisors in the self-exclusion procedures.
Perform vehicle registration for parking passes and lockers
Performs other services as requested or required by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Ensure shifts are properly staffed and that staff is informed of responsibilities for shifts

Education and/or Experience
2 to 3 years of security experience preferred.

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
No skills needed

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills
