The Regional Intergovernmental Council (RIC) located in South Charleston, WV is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director. RIC is designated as the WV Region 3 Planning and Development Council and serves the counties of Boone, Clay, Kanawha, and Putnam. RIC provides technical assistance to its members of government, other agencies, and the public. Important functions include grant writing and administration, developing and implementing infrastructure projects, comprehensive and transportation planning, and community and economic development.The Executive Director is responsible for hiring and leading RIC staff, representing RIC at meetings and workshops, assisting members in the preparation, implementation, and administration of projects and programs, and keeping members informed of policies, programs, and projects.Applicants shall have considerable knowledge and experience with federal and state programs; ability to supervise multi-disciplinary staff; working knowledge of computer applications, administrative, personnel, fiscal and management techniques; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with members, public agencies, and the public; and ability to coordinate RIC programs.Applicants shall possess a bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, government, social science, business administration or related field and six years of responsible professional experience in the public or private sectors in economic or community development, transportation, social services, human resources, government accounting and indirect cost rates, or related field. Progressively responsible supervisory experience is required. A master's degree in an appropriate field is preferred.
