(WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley,
WV, is currently inviting applications and nominations for the
following employment opportunity:
The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems within
the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences seeks to
hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in
Computer Science for the academic year 2024-25. The department
offers two-degree programs: BS degree in Computer Science (CS) and
BS degree in Information Systems (IS). Beginning from fall 2021 the
department added an area of emphasis in Cybersecurity to the CS
program. This position is 9-month, tenure-track, full-time, and
benefits-eligible.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Computer
Science and Information Systems courses for baccalaureate programs
and service classes for other majors. The successful candidate will
also be expected to pursue scholarly activities and perform other
service activities associated with a faculty position.

Science or closely related field is required by the time of
appointment. Ability to teach Information Systems and Cybersecurity
courses is preferred. ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates
with six or more years of experience in a tenure track teaching
position will be considered for the rank of Associate Professor.
Commitment to teaching excellence, responsiveness to student needs,
and good communication skills are essential.
