Job Description:
Job Description The Marshall Women’s & Gender Center provides
educational programming, leadership development, resource
connections, and advocacy support to Marshall students through
initiatives focused on gender, feminism, and social justice. The
Center serves and engages students in addressing issues related to
equity and discrimination, gender-based violence, body image and
self-esteem, sexual health, and more. The Center welcomes and
values students of all genders and seeks to foster an inclusive
environment for collaborative learning, community-building, and
celebrating intersectional identities. The Women’s Gender Center
Coordinator reports to the Assistant Dean of Wellness & Gender
Programs and will coordinate short and long-term program goals. The
coordinator’s primary focus is to provide day-to-day direction and
supervision of the Women’s & Gender Center student employees and
volunteers, services, and educational programs. JOB
RESPONSIBILITIES : Oversee all Women’s & Gender Center functions.
Coordinate the hiring, training, and supervising Women’s & Gender
Center student employees and volunteers, services, and educational
programs. Leads the planning, development, and implementation of
programs and initiatives addressing women’s and gender topics,
including group-specific educational programs, i.e., self-esteem &
body image, workplace equity, healthy masculinity, and sexual
health. Collaborate with campus and community entities to
coordinate awareness activities, including programming for Women’s
History, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Breast Cancer
Awareness Months. Coordinates and implements leadership
opportunities and recognition, i.e., the Women’s Leadership Retreat
and annual Women of Marshall Awards. Provide advocacy, support,
case management, and resource connections to students related to
equity, sexual misconduct or violence, and sexual health needs.
Serve as advisor to student organizations working on gender-related
initiatives and engage students in leadership opportunities related
to Center programs and initiatives. Serve on advisory boards and
committees as needed; represent the Women’s & Gender Center on
campus and in the community. Maintain thorough and accurate
documentation for Center programming and outreach. Coordinates the
compiling and submitting data and reports as needed. Assists in
securing external funding for projects and programs as
opportunities arise. Maintains documentation regarding budgetary
spending and purchases for the Women’s & Gender Center. Coordinates
and implements assessing and evaluating Center programs and
services. Participate in ongoing training and professional
development opportunities.
